WAREHOUSE AND DELIVERIES
Our company is, enviably, the largest independent multiple in Scotland with a branch distribution covering an extensive area of the Northeast.
Our modern, purpose-built warehouse is situated on a site of one acre and covers an area of 5,000 sq ft. It houses an extensive range of drugs, OTC medication and toiletries for distribution throughout our branch network, constantly reviewed in order to meet the needs of our pharmacies. The majority of our turnover is directed through the warehouse, as a result of our successful buying policy. Davidsons are holders of a wholesale dealer’s licence and this allows us to trade with other pharmacies and wholesalers. If you are interested in exploratory talks for trade links click here.
Equipped with the latest IT warehouse distribution management system, it enables our branches both to send OTC and NHS orders electronically and to receive stock availability responses live. Davidsons recognises that the development of its warehouse IT system is an ongoing process; investment in the latest technology will ensure that we maintain an efficient sales operation.
A coordinated delivery service ensures that our branches are serviced effectively and within 24 hours. Additional services provided by our transport team include the delivery of oxygen and prescriptions to the housebound, supplies to care homes, the collection of prescriptions from surgeries and as a valuable means of transfer between branches. Davidsons will continue to build upon the partnership of warehouse and delivery service to further strengthen the performance of its pharmacies.
